How to Enroll at CUSD

New Families Start Here

New Families - Looking to register at your home boundary school? Start with #1 below. Interested in a school that is not your home boundary school? Start with #2 below.

* Note: Open enrollment applications must be approved prior to registering for a school that is not your home school. If you are registering for your home boundary school, you DO NOT need to fill out an open enrollment application.

New Parents: For parents new to CUSD (grades Preschool-12), click here to begin your child's registration process for your attendance boundary school. Registrations are being accepted for the current school year, 2025-26.
Open Enrollment: Families interested in their child attending a school other than their attendance boundary school will need to apply for open enrollment. Open enrollments are being accepted for the current school year, 2025-26 school year.

If applying for an open enrollment school, please do not complete your child's registration for the Open Enrollment school UNTIL you have received your approval email or letter.

Student information – demographic and health information
Emergency contact – names and phone numbers
*Proof of Residency – current utility bill, lease agreement, etc. (see Acceptable Proof of Residency under Additional Student Registration Information on the District Enrollment Page)
State certified birth certificate
Legal guardian or legal custody papers (if the parent/legal guardian is not on the birth certificate)

Elite Performance Academy Registration

How to Apply:

Complete the Elementary Open Enrollment Application.
Complete the Elite Performance Academy Supplement Form.
Attach student documents outlined in application (grade report, discipline and attendance records).
Obtain Practice Facility Owner/Coach signature on the Supplement Form for verification of practice days and times.
Submit Supplement Form with all documentation to:

Registration

Elite Performance Academy administration receives, reviews, and approves applications throughout the school year.
Welcome Letter sent to approved families with orientation and tour dates.

Open Enrollment Capacity

Open Enrollment enables Arizona students to attend public schools outside their attendance area. In accordance with state law, the District has established an open enrollment policy and implemented an open enrollment program without charging tuition for non-resident students and resident transfer students. Open Enrollment applications may be submitted online (elementary) or via email or in-person at our junior high and high schools.

Per district policy 5-105 and 5-105A and ARS 15-816, acceptance of a student's Open Enrollment will be based on site capacity, the students' prior discipline, grades and/or attendance. Please note that the district does not transport open enrollment students.

Open Enrollment capacity data is updated every 12 weeks per legislative requirements. Capacity may change prior to data being updated.
